Partnership to End Homelessness Visual Identity

Greater Washington Community Foundation + Burness Communications

Dignity, hope and home

Recognizing that government alone cannot solve D.C.’s homelessness crisis, The Greater Washington Community Foundation spearheaded a public-private partnership of diverse organizations across the region with a common goal: end homelessness in the D.C. region. The visual identity reflects the core tenets of the campaign: optimism and partnership are key to making sure everyone has a safe, affordable place to call home.

The final identity drew inspiration from D.C.’s iconic flag to embody the pride and spirit of the city. Two stripes and a single star interlock to form a united shape and a hidden “p” in the center.

Five years after the initial launch, the Partnership has helped reduce homelessness in D.C. by 12%, ended homelessness for nearly 5,000 households, and invested $20 million in affordable housing and nonprofit grants.
